Bigs and Littles spend an hour a week during the lunch time at their school for a time commitment of at least a full school year. Bigs and Littles do all sorts of different things at the school like eating lunch together, playing games, reading, working on homework, playing outside, etc. It really depends on the interests of the mentor and the child. With a site-based match, the Big and Little would not see or communicate with each other outside of the school.
Community-based mentoring relationships involve one-to-one outings and activities, doing things the Big and Little enjoy together. Each match is unique and develops a schedule that works for them. Bigs and Littles spend 2-4 hours, 2-4 times a month with each other for at least 18 months.
